Climbing

From a weather point of view our valleys benefit from both alpine and Mediterranean climatic influences. And it is also a zone that is particularly rich geologically.

There are 9 climbing sites in Champsaur and Valgaudemar offering a huge variety of climbing and a range of different views and countryside.

In Champsaur you can find excellent conditions for traditional climbing on beautiful coloured limestone and in Valgaudemar, you can challenge your mountaineering skills on granite or sandstone.

Most of the climbing sites in Champsaur and Valgaudemar are contracted with the French Mountaineering and Climbing Federation. They guarantee the quality of the equipment on the sites, for both children and adults and ensure that regulations are followed.
